KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) – The Kingsport Police Department reports a missing man has been found. Police say John Pless was found safe in Knoxville, TN, but he was not in his pickup.
Detectives are working to find out what exactly happened and how Pless, who has recently been experiencing memory issues, ended up in the area.

KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) – Police in Kingsport need your help finding a missing man. Police John Pless was reported missing by his wife Wednesday evening.
Police were told Pless had recently been experiencing memory issues consistent with the early stages of dementia. Investigators say because of this information Pless is considered endangered.
Pless’ wife told police, on Thursday evening around 5:00 p.m., she called her husband to assist her with her car that had broken down. She said while she waited for him, she saw his vehicle entering Interstate 26 headed towards Virginia.
Eventually, she was able to get her vehicle started and returned to their home, but Pless has not been seen or heard from since.
Pless is described as a 56-year-old man, standing around 5’9” and weighing 170 pounds. He is said to have gray hair, green eyes, and an average build. He also has a mustache and wears glasses. Pless was last seen wearing a black thermal shirt and blue jeans
He drives a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado, a mid-size pickup – with the Tennessee license plate V72-91V. He has been employed by Joy Global in Duffield, Virginia, since driving toward the Southwest Virginia area would be familiar to him.
