Classes resume at Dobyns-Bennett after morning evacuation

KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) – Kingsport City Schools evacuated students at Dobyns-Bennett for a short time this morning after a breaker box had an electrical issue.

Spokesperson Andy True tells News Channel 11 students were sent outside after a breaker box on the second floor of the art wing of the high school started smoking – but it did *not* catch fire.

True says the move was just a precaution, and students returned to their classrooms in less than half an hour.Students from the art wing went to other areas of the school as crews continued to fix the issue.

True says there was no damage to the room, and no one was injured.
