Suspicious person call in Johnson City leads to wanted person’s arrest

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City police say they arrested a Kingsport man after receiving a “suspicious person” call at the Pal’s restaurant on Old Gray Station Road.

Officers found 38-year-old Lonnie Cody behind the restaurant Thursday morning around 5:30 a.m.

Officers soon discovered that Cody had an active violation of probation in Bristol, VA on charges of shoplifting or larceny and huffing.

Cody was arrested by JCPD officers as a fugitive from justice.

He is currently awaiting a bond hearing at the Washington County Detention Center.

He is scheduled to appear In court on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

Eventually, authorities in Bristol, VA will extradite Cody to face charges there.
