Greene Co. homicide case headed to grand jury

GREENEVILLE, TN (WJHL) – The case of a man charged with homicide will now go to a grand jury.

Lucas Riddle, 18, faces the homicide charge after a car he was driving slammed into a tree on Old Tusculum Road in Greeneville, killing three of his passengers – Aaron Overbay, Crystal Manis and Jared Wardrep, all of Greeneville.

Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers said Riddle was going 60 mph in a 30 mph zone.

THP said there was some evidence that suggested drug and alcohol use.

Riddle waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday in Greene County Sessions Court, so the case will now go to the grand jury.

His next appearance in Criminal Court has been set for May 6.
