Running backs coach Jaren Troutman placed on administrative leave with pay

KNOXVILLE, TN (WATE)  –  A Hardin Valley Academy assistant football coach has been placed on leave, according to Knox County Schools, after allegations he had inappropriate contact with students.

Jaren Troutman is the running backs coach for the Hardin Valley Academy football team. He also serves as a teaching assistant at the school. Spokeswoman Melissa Tindell says he was placed on administrative leave with on February 25 pending the investigation.

In a letter to Troutman, Becky Wuethrich with Knox County Employee Relations Department said Troutman had given students his personal cell number and obtained students cell numbers. “It is alleged that you have sent suggestive text messages and made inappropriate comments to female students,” writes Wuethrich.

Wuethrich said Troutman was asked to tell his side of the story and provide an explanation regarding the allegations.
