(WJHL)  -Hillary Clinton handily won the Tennessee primary Tuesday night.  But she didn’t win the vote in three of Tennessee’s 95 counties, and they’re all in the Tri-Cities.

Election results show Bernie Sanders won the most votes in Washington, Carter, and Unicoi Counties.

In Washington County, Tennessee, Sanders won 53% to Clinton’s 45%.

In Unicoi County, Sanders won 51% to Clinton’s 46%.

In Carter County, half the people who voted Democrat voted for Sanders. 47% voted for Clinton.

Statewide, Clinton got 66% of the vote. Bernie Sanders won about half that at 32%.

It’s a small pocket of fervent support in an area of the State that traditionally votes conservative. Sanders supporters opened a campaign office in Johnson City and held rallies in support of the candidate.
