(WJHL) -Next time you take the family to Chick-fil-A, ditching the smartphones during the meal could win everyone in your crew a free sweet treat.
Tri-Cities Chick-fil-A restaurants are joining others across the nation encouraging customers to take the “family challenge ” by putting their mobile devices in “cell phone coops” during dinner.
People can ask for cell phone “coops” – small boxes where silenced pones can be stored during the meal. Customers whose phones stay in the “coop” during the entire meal can go to the counter and tell the clerk they successfully completed the family challenge.
The prize is a free ice cream cone.
The goal for people to reconnect instead of burying their faces in phones.
