Former convict facing weapons charges after shooting in Hawkins County

HAWKINS COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – The Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office arrested Fred Hill Jr., 39, after an investigation into a shooting that happened on Ben Hill Road in Rogersville.

The arrest stemmed from a shooting on February 24th, where Hill told police that he shot Roy Fanning. Hill has felony convictions from October 2011, in the State of Virginia, involving the use of firearms.

Hill was charged with Unlawful Carry or Possession of a Weapon, a Class E Felony. He is currently being held in the Hawkins County Jail without bond, he is scheduled for arraignment in Hawkins County General Sessions Court on Monday.
