JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – The 4th annual Niswonger Children’s Hospital radiothon will kick off on Monday, February 29th and last until Tuesday, March 1st.
As the only children’s hospital in the region, Niswonger covers 29 counties in four states. The money raised will help the hospital expand its existing services into comprehensive Centers of Excellence that will provide leading-edge technology and specialized care for children with complex medical conditions.
The radiothon is also part of the hospital’s campaign to raise $500,000 to create a special unit in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) designed to treat babies who are born addicted to drugs.
Phone banks will be set up in the Niswonger Children’s Hospital lobby, Indian Path Medical Center, and Johnston Memorial Hospital, and volunteers will be taking calls from 7a.m. to 7p.m. both days. To make a donation you can call toll-free: 855-611-KIDS (5437).
On Tuesday, March 1, Niswonger will wrap up the radiothon as well as host a 7th birthday celebration for the hospital.
