Multiple agencies respond to house fire in Mt. Carmel

MT. CARMEL, TN (WJHL) – Multiple police, fire and rescue crews responded to a house fire on Englewood Avenue in Mt. Carmel Tuesday afternoon.

Mt. Carmel Fire Chief Ryan Christian said two people were home at the time of the fire, but said they were able to escape without injury. Multiple animals inside the home were rescued by fire personnel.

Christian said the call about the fire came in around 2 p.m. and crews arrived on-scene within five minutes to a home that was fully engulfed in flames. The fire was controlled within 30 minutes.

According to Christian, the home was destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
