Vanderbilt University police investigating alleged sex assault

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Vanderbilt University police are investigating an alleged sex assault reported to a campus security.

According to authorities, a female student reported that she was sexually assaulted on Jan. 20 by a male acquaintance in a residence hall.

The school issued a reminder to students that the Vanderbilt University Police Department is available to assist anyone in need 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you need emergency assistance call 615-421-1911 or non-emergency 615-322-2745.

News 2 reached out to the school for additional information and was referred to the school’s security notice sent out to students. Officials at the school said further details would not be released.
