Police searching for child rape suspect allegedly caught in the act

LA VERGNE, TN (WKRN) – La Vergne police are searching for a child rape suspect Thursday morning who was allegedly caught in the act by a relative of the victim.

La Vergne police reported John Lamb, 36, fled from the scene after the relative called 911 around midnight.

It happened at a residence on Dollar Drive in the Cedar Glen mobile home park.

Authorities conducted an extensive search of the area for Lamb, utilizing patrol and SWAT officers, K-9 officers, detectives and forensic man trackers but were unable to locate him.

Lamb was described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, 208 pounds and balding with closely shaven sides. He was last seen wearing a white tank top, black and gray sweater, blue jeans covered with white paint, Timberland boots (yellow with white soles) and a dark blue baseball cap.

No vehicles are registered to Lamb and it is unknown what direction he might be traveling. He is said to have connections to areas in southern Kentucky.

Lamb has a criminal history, which includes assault, terroristic threats and escape.

He reportedly threatened the lives of the victim and victim’s family as well as law enforcement during the incident.
