Washington County, Va. deputies arrest man on meth charges while serving warrant

WASHINGTON COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – Washington County, Va. Sheriff’s Office arrested a Bristol, Va. man on drug charges after a methamphetamine lab was found while deputies were serving him with an outstanding warrant.

According to a WCVASO news release, deputies went to the home of Larry Donald Smith, 44, on Reedy Creek Road to serve an outstanding warrant, where they found drug paraphernalia and drug residue in the home.

A search of the property revealed a shake and bake methamphetamine lab, which was seized from an outbuilding on the property.

Smith was arrested on charges of possession with intent to manufacture 28 grams or more of methamphetamine and possession of precursors to manufacture methamphetamine. He was also served with an outstanding warrant for assault on a family member.

He was taken to the Southwest Regional Jail in Abingdon, Va., where he was being held on $4,000 bond.
