Baby dies after Tenn. mom accused of using meth while pregnant

COFFEE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Coffee County woman is charged in the death of her newborn after authorities say she used meth while pregnant.

Brittany Evans, 28, was arrested Wednesday on charges of second-degree murder and given a $50,000 bond.

She’s accused of using meth during her pregnancy and a short time before her baby was born in April 2015. The infant died within minutes and tested positive for meth.

Evans, who has three other children, is due in court to be arraigned on Feb. 3.
