TAZEWELL COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office will begin putting the words “In God We Trust” on the back of Tazewell patrol cars.
A spokesperson with The Sheriff’s Office said the department held their largest Concealed Weapons class to date with 87 participants.
The class was free, but several participants and organizations who participated in the class donated to the Sheriff’s Office to help pay for the markings.
“Our department feels very strongly about having In God We Trust on our vehicles. We know there is nothing we can do for our community without the guidance of our Lord.” says Sheriff Brian Hieatt.
“We want the public to know that we have strong Christian men and women serving their community. Members of the department actually hold weekly Bible Study meetings, and we are thankful that Pastor Boyd opened up his Church for our class and then donated to our cause.”
Hieatt said several other churches in the county also donated to the cause.
