Three injured after crash near Milligan College closes both lanes

ELIZABETHTON, TN (WJHL) – News Channel 11 is following one-vehicle crash on Milligan Highway near the entrance of Milligan College. The crash happened minutes before the 8:00 a.m. hour.

An Elizabethton Police Officer on the scene told News Channel 11, single cab pickup truck traveling west on Milligan noticed a car swerving into his lane. The driver tried to avoid hitting the car, but ended up tipping his truck onto its side.

All three of the people are out of the truck.

The driver is said to be in stable condition while his passengers are in serious condition.  Paramedics took the victims to the Johnson City Medical Center for treatment.

When News Channel 11 arrived on the scene the driver was out of the truck, but complaining of injuries; his two passengers were pinned inside of the truck.

An officer told News Channel 11, Milligan Highway near the Milligan College will remain closed for some time.

The Elizabethton Fire Department, the Carter County Rescue Squad, and the Elizabethton Police Department responded to the crash.
