New brewery set to open in Johnson City by end of the month

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL)- A new brewery is set to open its doors by the end of the month in Johnson City.

John and Jill Henritze said they have dreamed about opening JRH Brewing for more than a decade now.

About a year ago they found land off of W Walnut Street in the downtown area in order to make that dream happen.

With the current efforts underway to revitalize the downtown area, Jill Henritze told us they feel this grand opening couldn’t have come at a better time.

“Things have kind of played out in our favor and I think they are really working on the West Walnut corridor which is going to help us and we hope to be a cornerstone for downtown Johnson City and for this area so I really think the timing has been good,” Hentitze said.

JRH Brewing is also the most recent addition to the Brewly Noted Beer Trail that was unveiled last year.

It is a tourism initiative designed to bring beer enthusiasts to the region.
