Unicoi Co. grand jury indicts Erwin man on forgery charges

UNICOI COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – A Unicoi County grand jury indicted an Erwin man on forgery charges, following an investigation by the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office into forged bank documents.

According to a UCSO news release, Johnny Mcallister-Edwards, 31, an employee of Unicoi Wine and Spirits, was indicted on five counts of forgery.

The sheriff’s office said Mcallister-Edwards on five occasions forged bank documents and sent them to distributors who were owed money by Unicoi Wine and Spirits.

On Jan. 5, Mcallister-Edwards was arrested and taken to Unicoi County Jail, where he was released on $10,000 bond.

Mcallister-Edwards was scheduled to appear in Unicoi County Criminal Court Feb. 8 at 9 a.m.
