Suspect ID’d in East Knoxville fatal shooting considered ‘armed and dangerous’

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – Knoxville Police Department has identified a suspect in the shooting of John Marshal Kyle.

Kyle was shot three times on Monday in the 2600 block of Wilson Avenue, according to police. Officers said Kyle died during emergency surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.

Officers are still looking for Ricky Allen Davis, Jr., 29, who was identified a suspect in the shooting. Davis is a felon with a violent history and police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Once in custody, Knoxville police said he will be charged with one count of first degree murder and one count of felony possession of a firearm.
