Castlewood Fire and Rescue responds to single vehicle crash

CASTLEWOOD, VA (WJHL) – Emergency crews transported a man to the hospital after they say his vehicle flipped on the road.

Castlewood Fire and Rescue says it responded to Highway 58 in the area of Buzzard Roost in the Castlewood community of Russell County around 7 a.m. Monday morning.

Crews described the crash as involving only one vehicle.

First responders on scene said the jeep crossed an embankment and flipped on its top.

Emergency crews said the driver was flown to the Bristol Regional Medical Center for injuries but he was stable at the scene.

Virginia State Police also responded to the crash.

Crews cleared the scene around 9 a.m. Monday morning.
