CULLOWHEE, N.C. (Nov. 23, 2015) – ETSU setter Kristen Favre (Plano, Texas) was named to the SoCon All-Tournament Team following the conference championship match Monday evening at the Ramsey Center in Cullowhee, N.C.
“Kristen worked hard throughout the season and continued to bring the same work ethic into tournament play,” said ETSU Head Coach Lindsey Devine. “She ran our offense with purpose and fueled our players with confidence.”
Favre, who was named the All-Tournament squad at the Comfort Inn-Vitational in September, dished out 92 assists in two matches this weekend averaging 10.2 assists per set. Favre helped ETSU reach the semifinals in the tournament with a 50-assist performance in the quarterfinals against Samford, which was the third time this season she has had 50 or more assists in a match. The Plano, Texas native chipped in three assists and helped the Bucs’ defense with 17 digs (1.89 per set) and seven blocks (0.78 per set).
Furman, which won the championship match Monday evening against Chattanooga in three sets, had two players on the All-Tournament squad in Annie Bierman and Jo Wilks. Wilks was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. Chattanooga also had a pair of players in Allie Davenport and Briana Ross make the team, while UNCG’s Katherine Santiago rounded out the squad.
