UPDATE: Capt. Maynard Ratcliff with the Bristol, Va. Police Department confirmed that Damien McCoo, 19, was found Monday night in Abingdon,Va.
Ratcliff said a tip from the public led to his location and he is safe.
BRISTOL, VA (WJHL) – Bristol, Va. Police Department officers are currently searching for a missing teen with Asperger’s Syndrome who might be endangered.
According to a BVAPD news release, Damien McCoo, 19, has been missing since Saturday from The Woodlands apartment complex on Second Street in Bristol, Va.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported on their Facebook page that McCoo was last seen in the area of Exit 10 in Washington County, Va.
McCoo is a black man who is 5-foot-5 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
He has a black beard and a large mole on his face.
McCoo reportedly suffers from Asperger’s and may not respond to strangers.
He has been known to frequent the area around the Bristol Public Library, Food City on Euclid Avenue, as well as the Bristol Mall on Gate City Highway.
