Washington County, Va. deputies arrest pair on meth, marijuana charges

WASHINGTON COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – Washington County, Va. Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two people Friday morning on multiple drug charges, following a traffic stop on Old Jonesboro Road.

According to a WCVASO news release, a deputy with a K-9 unit stopped at 2004 Ford Mustang around 8:45 a.m. on Halls Bottom Road, because the vehicle was being operated by a known suspended driver.

The K-9 unit was deployed and found another person in possession of a controlled substance.

The driver, Franklin Dee Rose of Glade Spring, Va. was charged with possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of controlled drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, third or subsequent driving suspended and a parole violation.

The passenger, Jessica Leanne Yates, was charged with possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of controlled paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

According to the release, all drugs were seized and sent to the state forensics lab for analysis.

Rose and Yates were taken to the Southwest Regional Jail in Abingdon, Va.
