Utah plastics maker investing $15M, creating 500 jobs in Knox County

KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Utah-based company that manufactures chiefly outdoor sports and furniture products made from plastic is expanding into Knox County bringing hundreds of jobs.

Lifetime Products Inc. is purchasing an existing 360,000 square foot building in Mascot, and adding another 360,000 square foot building where they will make kayaks, paddle boards and children’s playsets.

The company makes sheds, kayaks, paddle boards and lawn and garden items from blow-molded polyethylene, a high-strength plastic.

Gov. Bill Haslam, Commissioner of Economic and Community Development Randy Boyd and Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett all attended Friday afternoon’s announcement.
