United Way hosts second 2015 Fall Campaign luncheon

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – The United Way of Washington Co., Johnson City and Jonesborough held its second report meeting this afternoon at the Holiday Inn in Johnson City.

This year’s campaign is entitled “Building Futures on Giving, Serving and Receiving and Campaign Chair Kim Holley and other members of this year’s campaign team reported results to date for the 2015 Fall Campaign from the fourteen campaign divisions.

Holley says the campaign is making progress toward reaching the $1.8 million goal, ” I think we’re on track, where we need to be. It’s always hard to measure that from the year before, but I think our number is gonna come in reasonable where we should be. This time of year, there’s just so many needs in our community that are addressed because of Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays, but we know those needs are real all year long for so many people and we can’t lose sight of that and those dollars are so important.”

Board Chairman Eric Horvath added, “This is a great time of year to show our thanks to the people and companies in this community extending a helping hand to our 17 partner agencies by contributing toward our $1.8 million goal.”

There will be one final 2015 Fall Campaign meeting in December and Holley is really looking forward to it, “When we are here in December, we’re gonna have a celebration lunch. We truly hope and feel like we’re gonna be above that $1.8 million, but regardless, we’re gonna be celebrating our community and the role that these agencies play every day.”
