MARSHALL COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) – An inmate in the custody of the Tennessee Department of Correction is accused of mailing several letters threatening violence in Marshall County.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation began investigating on Nov. 26, 2013 after a letter was addressed to at a student who was the relative of an employee of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.

The letter, which the TBI says threatened violence against the county’s courthouse and a Lewisburg retail establishment, was reportedly intercepted by school administrators.

Agents say information led them to Jason Fisher, and, during the investigation, two more letters attributed to him surfaced. The other letters threatened further violence on the same dates Fisher was set to be in court.

He was indicted on Oct. 30 and charged with three counts of committing an act of terrorism. Fisher was served the warrant Thursday.
