MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is now offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for shooting and killing a dog with a bow and arrow.

Mimi, a 5-year-old Border Collie rescue, died last Saturday in Murfreesboro.

Her owner, Hiromi Soto, told News 2 she was taking her dogs for a daily walk in a field near her home when Mimi ran off.

Soto said she heard her dog scream and then found her. She had been shot and killed.

Authorities have yet to make any arrests in connection with the case, prompting PETA to offer a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the crime.

Anyone with information should call Murfreesboro CrimeStoppers at 615-893-STOP.
