Johnson City, TN (WJHL) – A goal of providing boxed Thanksgiving meals for over 1,500 families of elderly and disabled folks is in danger of not being met for Good Samaritan Ministries.
“We’re short 550 turkeys,” says Interim Executive Director Aaron Murphy, “and we’re just in a crunch time right now, and we really need help bad.”
The boxes of food cost approximately $35, and provide a family enough food for about a week, including a turkey and several fixings for Thanksgiving.
Now, they are asking for the public to help them meet that goal, to make sure families in need have a hearty feast for the holiday.
If you would like to donate, you can do so at Good Samaritan, located at 100 N. Roan Street in Johnson City, or you can visit their website at http://www.goodsamjc.org . Donations will be taken through the 24th for the Thanksgiving meals.
