SCSO investigating home burglary on New Beason Well Road in Kingsport

SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a home burglary in Kingsport.

According to a SCSO news release, officers were called to a home on New Beason Well Road and upon arrival they saw damage to the front door of a home.

The victim, an elderly female, said she woke up around 5:30 a.m. and saw two men in her bedroom.

The men reportedly tied her wrists and ankles, and then stole a safe in her home.

According to the release, the men ripped the victim’s phone from the wall.

The woman was able to free herself and said she tried to get the attention of someone passing by to use their phone, but was unsuccessful.

Around 11 a.m., a relative of the woman arrived at her home and then called 911.

Detectives also responded to the scene and gathered information from the woman.

According to the release, detectives believe the suspects knew the woman and targeted her specifically to steal the safe.

Anyone with information or anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity on New Beason Well Road early Wednesday morning is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 279-7500, ext. 222.
