VA Medical Center director plans to retire

MOUNTAIN HOME, TN (WJHL) – A spokesperson with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at Mountain Home said the current Medical Center Director Charlene Ehret will soon retire.

“Ms. Ehret has told her staff that she plans to retire the first of the year,” VA spokesperson Judy Fowler-Argo said.

Ehret was appointed as director back in 2006 and was responsible in overseeing the management and operation of the general medical and surgical hospital with 114 medical, surgical, and psychiatric beds, a 120-bed nursing home unit, a 170-bed domiciliary, an outpatient clinic in Knoxville, six VA Outpatient Clinics and three Rural Outreach Clinics.

Ehret is a graduate of the University of Memphis and the University of Utah.

According to a release provided by the VA, Ehret joined the Veterans Administration in 1972 and worked in seven different Veterans Affairs Medical Centers before being assigned to Mountain Home.
