THP: Elizabethton woman charged after crashing into Carter Co. school bus

CARTER COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – Tennessee Highway Patrol has charged an Elizabethton woman after she hit a school bus in front of Unaka High School Tuesday afternoon.

According to a THP preliminary report, a Carter County school bus carrying 28 students was getting into the left turn lane and preparing to turn onto Robinson Lane when a Hyundai Sonata, driven by Felicia Grayson, 56, entered the same turn lane.

The school bus stopped and Grayson’s vehicle continued down the lane and hit the school bus head-on in the turning lane.

No students were injured in the crash.

Grayson was charged with DUI, due care and driver’s license violation.
