JCPD arrest habitual motor offender following I-26 hit-and-run

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a man on multiple charges following a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 26 near Suncrest Drive Tuesday.

According to the release, a woman told police her vehicle had been hit by a black truck and then the truck left the scene.

The truck was found at Suncrest Drive and Gray Station Road, and the driver, Kenneth D. McBrayer, of Maryville, was later located in Gray.

McBrayers was declared a habitual motor vehicle offender and was charged with being a habitual motor offender, following to closely, failure to comply with the financial responsibility law and leaving the scene of a crash.

He was arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held on $6,000 bond pending a preliminary court appearance Wednesday at 9 a.m.
