JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL)  This Wednesday November 11th, the nation will honor women and men who’ve left home and loved ones to serve in the country’s military.

Some are no longer with us.  Others walk among us as they continue to serve and as they move on with their lives after their tour of duty is complete.

This Veteran’s Day, News Channel 11 says THANK YOU to America’s veterans.  To show our appreciation, we’ll honor veterans from the Tri-Cities with a photo gallery here on WJHL.com.

Look for your submitted pictures in a special web tribute on Veteran’s Day.

That’s when you’ll hear the remarkable story of James Smith.   Barely 21, he escaped the worst disaster in U.S. Navy history.  Now at 91, he lives in the Tri-Cities and shared his story with News Channel 11’s Josh Smith.

Email your photo to news@wjhl.com or submit it on the WJHL Facebook Page.

Please include the veteran’s name, hometown, rank and branch of service, and any other information you think will help tell their story.
