NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Their performance stole the show with a flawless take on Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whiskey.”

When Justin Timberlake was approached to help raise money for the USO of Nashville and USO of Fort Campbell, he came up with the idea to donate the custom guitar he used in the performance to help raise money for the non-profit organization.

“I have never been so connected to an awards ceremony in my life. In a way, you could tell it was going to be something spectacular but watching it and watching the entire crowd the arena standing up, rocking out, goose bumps. That’s it. Goose bumps,” said Kari Moore, the USO Center Director.

MaLissa Harris, the center operations supervisor of the USO, explained how the donation came about.

Her father is Justin Timberlake’s production manager and her mother is his production and dressing room coordinator.

The couple approached Timberlake to find out if he would help with the non-profit’s silent auction.

“He said yes, I want to give something. He came up with this idea on his own, which makes it even that much more special that this is from his heart to give back tot he soldiers and families of Fort Campbell and Nashville,” said Harris.

The goal of USO is to lift the spirits of active duty and reserve service men and women. The organization currently serves about 90,000 people in our region.

Timberlake’s guitar will be auctioned off at the organization’s Big Band Bash Saturday.

The event is a 1940s inspired dance. It will be held at the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville.

“We’ve been holding this secret for a little while, so to not only be able to say hey guys, guess what but to pair it with everyone’s most talked about moment in weeks, it probably the most exciting thing,” said Moore.
