Greeneville, TN — The annual “Orange-Blue Blood Drive” will be held Monday, Nov. 16, at Takoma Regional Hospital.
Medic Regional Blood Center’s mobile unit will be parked in the hospital’s front parking lot, located at 401 Asheville Highway, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. for the blood drive that pits Tennessee Volunteer fans against the Kentucky Wildcats to see who can donate the most blood.
“We really want to beat Kentucky, so please give if you can,” Felicia Rhodes, donor resource coordinator for Medic, said. “We are low on O negative and O positive right now, but can always use all blood types.”
All donors will receive a limited edition T-shirt and coupons for a free pizza from Papa John’s, a Texas Roadhouse appetizer, and a ticket to the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital “Fantasy of Trees” event.
Donors must be at least 17 and weigh 110 pounds or more (16 year olds who weigh 120 pounds or more can donate, but must have parental consent). All donors must have positive identification.
