BRISTOL — Even though they didn’t win the world series like predicted in the movie “Back to the future,” it was still a magical season for the Chicago Cubs and along for the ride was southwest Virginia native Justin Grimm who’s now back home.
Grimm, the former pitcher for Virginia High now comes out of the bullpen for the Cubs Joe Madden. Grimm, has been in the majors for 5 years, the last 3 with the cubs, but this year he really took a step forward, finishing with a sub-two earned run average.
Grimm reflected on his first career postseason experience too. He said, the fist pump he gave after getting an inning ending strike out in his first appearance was the first one he’d ever done on the mound.
