SACRAMENTO (KRON, AP) — A high school principal was body slammed and three students arrested in a wild cafeteria fight that was filmed and posted online.
Sacramento County Sheriff’s Sgt. Tony Turnbull confirmed that video posted on YouTube showed the Monday morning melee at Florin High School.
When the fight broke out, a school resource police officer, a school official and principal Don Ross tried to break it up. In trying to restrain one student, Ross was thrown to the floor. He got back up and pulled the charging student from the fracas. He was not seriously injured.
Turnbull says that two 15-year-olds and a 13-year-old were arrested and taken to juvenile hall.
Two were charged with suspicion of battery on school staff causing injury and the third was arrested for making threats toward other students and law enforcement.
Elk Grove Unified School District spokeswoman Xanthi Pinkerton said the altercation stemmed from a disagreement in the personal lives of the students. The beef between them was brought to school and got out of hand, The Sacramento Bee reported.
