JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Tri-Cities supporters of democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders had a chance to “feel the Bern” this weekend.BERNIE RALLY WEB IMAGE

Members of the Bernie 2016 campaign team stopped in Johnson City for a volunteer rally and conference Sunday as part of a five city tour across the state of Tennessee.

Campaign leaders said they made the stop to garner volunteer support from the Tri-Cities region, because they feel Northeast Tennessee will play a key role in the election.

“We are going to be canvassing we are going to be using voter contact tools and the idea is to help them be prepared to win this election,” said Corbin Trent, National Campaign Coordinator for Bernie 2016.

Conference organizers anticipate making more stops and working with supporters in the region throughout the campaign.
