A special exhibit honoring a Bristol native is now on display at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum.
Tennessee Ernie Ford was born in Bristol and went on to become a Grammy Award-winning musician and famous radio and television personality.
The Birthplace of Country Music Museum held a small private opening of the Tennessee Ernie Ford Exhibit Friday, with Ford’s son in attendance.
The display features photos of the late singer, as well as artifacts like his Grammy, sheet music, and albums.
“There’s so many people here who still remember knowing him when he was a boy, watching him on television, remembering when he came back to Bristol, the homecomings, getting to see him perform here in Bristol. So I think people still think he’s their own star, he’s a Bristol native and that’s still really important to people,” said Rene Rodgers, Associate Curator.
The exhibit is open to the public through February 14, 2016.
