SCSO detectives arrest pair after crystal meth, pot, firearms found inside camper

SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office’s Vice and Narcotics Unit arrested two people after a crystal methamphetamine, marijuana and firearms were found following a report of illegal drug activity inside a camper in Blountville.

According to a SCSO news release, deputies received a tip of the illegal drug activity happening inside a camper parked on property on Hawley Road.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with Crystal McManis, 33, and Steven Bryant, 41.

McManis told deputies that she did not live in the camper, but had stayed there for two nights.

Bryant had originally identified himself as Bob Jones, but later gave his real name.

Deputies learned that he had been living in the camper a while and did not have permission to park on the property.

According to the release, detectives saw drug paraphernalia on the cabinet and a search of the camper revealed around .5 grams of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, other items associated with illegal drug use and two firearms.

Bryant was arrested and charged with maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are used or sold, schedule I-VII drug violations, possessing a firearm during a felony, unlawful carrying of a weapon, unlawful drug paraphernalia, criminal trespass and criminal impersonation.

According to the release, Bryant was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for a felony failure to appear.

McManis was arrested and charged with simple possession, unlawful drug paraphernalia and criminal trespass.
