Students were given the opportunity to submit a pumpkin that they had decorated in the likeness of a book character. The top three pumpkins’ owners received money vouchers for the school’s book fair– which will be held next semester.

And we saw everything from Yoda and elf on the shelf to Violet Beauregarde from ‘Willy Wonka’.indian pumpkin

The school’s media specialist, Maria LaBarbera, told us the kids’ enthusiasm is the best part of the contest, “It’s fun to watch their faces. It doesn’t matter if they win. It’s just that they’ve made such a good effort and other people have enjoyed what they’ve made “.

Lake Ridge School is actually hosting their annual fall festival in the school’s gymnasium. The event kicked off at 5 o’clock and will continue until 8 p.m. tonight.
