Kohl’s assault and theft suspects turn themselves in to KPD

KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) – Kingsport Police Department officers arrested two women, following an investigation into a shoplifting and an assault incident at Kohl’s in the Kingsport Pavilion shopping center on Oct. 6.


According to a KPD news release, warrants for Kara Aleisha Rachelle Standifer, 22, of Pennington Gap, Va. and Natasha Shay Nicole Rogers, 26, of Jonesville, Va., for an incident where they concealed merchandise in their purses and exited the store without paying.

A loss prevention officer at the store tried to detain the women at their vehicle and one of the women slammed his hand in the driver’s side door, while the other woman punched him and clawed at his face with her fingernails.

One of the suspects got out of their silver Suzuki SUV and kicked the officer in the groin.

Standifer and Rogers were both charged with theft over $500 and simple assault.

The women turned themselves in at the Kingsport City Jail Thursday around 10:30 p.m. and both remain in jail on $3,750 bond each.
