He said in his post on Instagram that he debated for months how to or even if he should share with the public that he had a growth on his thyroid.

“I’m a firm believer in the power of prayer. So now, I’m asking for prayers,” said Norris in his Instagram post Monday evening.

And the prayers came. Thousand are showing their support for Norris, including colleagues who are showing their support off the field:

Johnson City Commissioner David Tomita expressed his concerns for Norris in a tweet Monday evening.

Days before breaking the news on social media, Norris simply Tweeted, “Just Keep Livin”.

He would later use the phrase at the end of his announcement to the world.

“So yea, the power of prayer.. It got me through this season. Now that it’s over, it’s time to get this thing out, so please keep me in your thoughts & prayers as I undergo surgery & come out 100% cancer free! As always,,, #justkeeplivin
