Four reported robbed with gun, knife at ETSU baseball stadium

Four victims were robbed at gun and knife-point in the East Tennessee State University baseball stadium parking lot early Friday morning, according to a police report.

The robbery was reported about 4 a.m. Friday at the school’s Thomas Stadium parking area on University Parkway. Campus police were told by the victims that two men approached them and one of them pointed “what appeared to be a handgun under a black bandana” in the vehicle in which the victims were sitting, according to the report.

The other man demanded wallets and cell phones.

The victims reported another man came up from the rear of the vehicle and put a knife to one victim’s throat before all three suspects left in vehicle.

The victims gave up their property and no one was hurt.

Police reported the suspects drove toward Lamont Street after the robbery.

ETSU sent out a text message alert about the robbery just before 4:30 a.m. Friday, asking recipients to be alert.
