Charges dropped against Johnson City pharmacist accused of trying to inject wife with drug

Scott Lee Renfro

JOHNSON, TN (WJHL) – A Johnson City pharmacist originally charged with the attempted murder of his wife had all remaining charges against him dismissed yesterday.

Scott Lee Renfro’s defense attorney filed a motion to dismiss charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, the only charges remaining against him following the dismissal of the attempted murder charge filed in 2014.

After the attempted murder charge was dismissed, Renfro was indicted on the aggravated assault and reckless endangerment charges.

The charges were prompted after Renfro was accused of trying to inject his wife with a diabetes drug she was not prescribed.

Judge Lisa Rice granted the defense motion to dismiss those charges in Washington County Criminal Court on Thursday.
