Detroit Tigers pitcher Daniel Norris back home in Johnson City

JOHNSON CITY —  The major league baseball season is over for some players, while a few teams are still trying to lock in a spot for the world series.

One guy who played with or against most of these teams still playing is Johnson City native Daniel Norris who’s back home for the winter.

Norris, who started the year for the Toronto Blue Jays was traded to the Detroit Tigers for David Price.

Norris finished the season with a 3-2 record and 3.75 era in 13 games, but his most memorable moment came at the plate in Chicago when he became just the 19th pitcher to hit a home run in his first major league at-bat, lining a two-run drive off Jon Lester in his first career plate appearance.

You can hear more from Norris on Saturday Sports Connection with Jake Young and also tune in Monday morning from 8:30 to 9:30am when he appears in studio on W-X-S-M 640am the Morning Monster.
