TRI-CITIES TN/VA (WJHL)– A local attraction is receiving national recognition. Appalachian ghost walks are lantern-led walking tours that are currently in second place in a national competition with USA Today to be the best ghost tour in the country.
One of the sixteen available tours features the historic Tipton Haynes historic site where tour director, Stacey McGee, tells us visitors learn about the region’s history and culture while also visiting towns and haunted sites that are designed to make attendees feel like they are traveling back in time.
He said, “it’s an amazing combination of history, mystery, and science that really gives you a spine tingling feel for who the people of the past were and who they could be today.”
Ghostwalks is kicking off its 12th year and features various lantern-led walking tours every day and night in southern Appalachia. Anyone over the age of 5 is more than welcome to attend. Reservations are required for the tours.
