Kingsport man charged in Washington County, Va., drug find

A call about a suspicious vehicle at an interstate hotel in Washington County, Va., resulted in numerous drug charges against a Kingsport man.

Washington County, Va., sheriff’s deputies were called to the Motel 6 at Exit 7 on Interstate 81 around 3:30 a.m. Friday after getting a call about what was described as a “suspicious vehicle” parked there. Deputies saw the vehicle and noticed what appeared to be marijuana visible on the center console.

A man, later identified as Christopher Ryan Dillon, 33, Kingsport, told deputies he owned the vehicle.

He was charged with the following 10 felonies and six misdemeanors: three counts of possession of a schedule I or II controlled substance; two counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II controlled substance; two counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule III controlled substance; two counts of possession with intent to distribute a schedule II controlled substance; two counts of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance; two counts of possession with intent to distrtibute a schedule IV controlled substance; possession of marijuana; possession of a firearm or stun gun by a convicted felon and resisting arrest.

Dillon was being held without bond in the Abingdon Facility of the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail.
