CHURCH HILL, TN (WJHL) – Church Hill Police Department officers arrested a man on drug charges, following a traffic stop Monday.
According to a CHPD news release, officers saw a vehicle at the intersection of U.S. Highway 11W and Silver Lake fail to stop for a red light and conducted a traffic stop.
Officers made contact with the passenger of the vehicle, Jack Dillon Dykes, who did not have a valid driver’s license and was showing signs of being under the influence.
The driver of the vehicle consented to a search of the vehicle and a search of Dykes’ gym bag revealed a small amount of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and two pipes with marijuana residue inside.
Police found several small clear plastic bags with white residue in them, a glass pipe, seven syringes, a cigarette filter, a plastic spoon with white residue on it, 16 blue pills believed to be Adderall and a digital scale.
Dykes said he didn’t tell police about the other narcotics and drug paraphernalia because he did not want to go to jail.
He was arrested and charged with possession of schedule II, simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.
Dykes was taken to the Hawkins County Jail and the narcotics were packaged and sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
