Rogersville police searching for Cash Advance robbery suspect

ROGERSVILLE, TN (WJHL-TV) Rogersville Police are searching for a man who robbed a business at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon.

The robbery happened at the Cash Advance on Highway 66 around 3:20 p.m..

Clerks say a heavily disguised white male in his late 20’s came into the store, pointed a semi-automatic handgun at a clerk, and demanded money.

Witnesses say the robber wore brown pants, a brown windbreaker jacket with a hood pulled around his face, a ballcap over the hood, bright reflective aviator sunglasses, and bandana over his face.

The man left the store and hasn’t been seen since despite an intense search conducted by Rogersville Police and the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office. About 30 officers blocked roads and searched door-to-door in a nearby neighborhood. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office even sent its helicopter to search the area.

Rogersville Police were still following up on leads Tuesday night.

Police ask anyone with information to call them at 423-272-7555.
